Tangled & Guy's Last 2 Days. Good-Bye...

It's been a lot of fun AND a ton of work but it was been worth every.single.effort. because Ave & Bryce had such a GREAT TIME looking for Tangled & Guy every morning and saying good night to them every day.  It was an excellent parenting tool and I am pretty sure that they may make an appearance or two over the next 12 months before next Christmas.  You know, if things get a little haywire around here with behaviors and all...LMAO!

Here are the links to our household adventures over the last month...

The Plan-O-Action (which wasn't really followed but was great to have for ideas)
Week #1
Week #2
Week #3
Week #4

DAY 29
Magically, Tangled & Guy arrived in Florida before we did and decorated the bedroom with a welcome sign and balloons and tons of Christmas paraphernalia.  Ave & Bryce thought that was pretty neat!

Day 30
It was Christmas morning and thankfully Ave & Bryce were way to engrossed in all the presents Grandma & Gramps showered them with because I had forgot...FOR THE FIRST TIME...to get those Elves "ready"!  Anywho, it worked out for the best because today was the day to say "good-bye" so when they arrived in gift bags after supper, just before bed, it was perfect.  We read their "Good Bye Letter"...

...then when Santa lifted their magic for a few moments, they both took advantage and gave them lots of hugs n' kisses...

I was kind worried we might have a mental breakdown the next morning when the Elves didn't show up but they have been so busy and engaged here in Florida that again, it all worked out and I couldn't be happier!!

Until next year,  I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and had a blast "Elfing Around"!!

Christmas Blessings...

I have no funny jokes to tell today. I have no smart a$$ comments to make. Nope.  Today is not about that.  It's about my blessings and hopefully sending some of my happiness to all the people in the world that need a little or a lot!

I am so blessed. I forget that sometimes. Shame on me. This year I am going to try to remember to count each and every one of them. Each. And. Every. Single. One. EVERYDAY!

I am in Florida with my family. All the people in my life that I cherish and love to the core of my being. I got to spend quality time with all my friends before coming here and I cherish and love them just as much. I am blessed. Very blessed.

My children's hugs n' kisses are the best present I could ever have today on Christmas morning and everyday. Every single day.

My heart is filled with so much joy and deep happiness to be surrounded by people who love me and who I love. To have my health, a roof over my head and food in my belly.  I am blessed. Extremely blessed.

My heart is also aching today for the families who have lost their loved ones this year and who may be having a very difficult time feeling the love of our Saviors birthday. I have deep sympathy and I am sending a little bit of my love, joy & happiness their way in hopes that someday, they can find some peace and comfort.

I leave you with a few touching posts that I have seen over the past few weeks...

Merry Christmas to Everyone & May the New Year Be Filled With Much Love, Happiness & Peace!

Day 22-28 of Elf on the Shelf. They are getting a little tired...

Guy & Tangled just finished up their 4 week stint of flying back and forth to the North Pole and they are getting pretty tired...LOL!  Only 2 days to go before they must depart until the kids misbehave next year.

DAY 22
Guy and Tangled took ANOTHER trip back to my hometown of Porcupine, ON to pick up ANOTHER special delivery from our OTHER besties.  How special is that??  Ave & Bryce loved it...AGAIN!!

DAY 23
With the leftover marshmallows from Sunday, the Elves had a little campfire on Tuesday morning and roasted the 4 marshmallows that were left after my kiddies snacked away on the HUGE bowl on Sunday (kiddin'...I made Krispie Squares).

DAY 24
The kids had some of their friends over for a Christmas breakfast and Tangled & Guy decided to swing from the decorations and left them all a little something special...

DAY 25
Silly Elves!  They decided to decorate our tree with underwear...I think the kids got the biggest giggle out of this one! (Thanks Calvin the Elf for sharing this idea with Tangled & Guy!)

DAY 26
Naughty Elves!  They had so much fun last week being little artists that they decided to leave the kids a message on the bathroom mirror on Friday morning.  I kinda wish they would have done this 3 months ago when we started potty training because I am sure Ave & Bryce used the washroom way more than usual on that day just so they could spend time with Tangled & Guy!!

DAY 27
Saturday was Christmas with Daddy Dave's family so the Elves thought it would be fun to wrap up a few household items...what a hoot!

DAY 28
It is Christmas Morning here at our house because we are leaving for Florida on Monday!!  Tangled & Guy left the kids a little note to let them know that they would see them there (in Florida) on Monday...taking a ride on their toy helicopter!!

So, I guess the next time we all see Tangled & Guy they will be in the sunshine state of Florida!  we can't wait to see what trouble adventures they have there!!

Happy Sunday Everyone & in the Event We Don't Get to Post Before the BIG DAY...MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Songs That Make US Sing Saturday Christmas Caroling Blog Hop! Remembering those we've lost...

Welcome to the last week of our Christmas Caroling Blog Hop...I must say how sad I am that more people didn't come caroling with us this year but I suppose ' Tis the Season to be busy...

Becca from Becuase I'm the Mommy and I had a blast all the same...Merry Christmas to Everyone!!

If would like to join in this week, here are just a few guidelines:

1. Please Follow the TWO of "Us" (we're so much more than just songs...LOL) If you're a new follower please leave us a comment so we can follow you back!

This year, I've played some family favorites from our very own Family Christmas Carols Book.

For the final week, I am playing one of my Gramps & Grams favorites.  The have since moved on to greener pastors with our Father up above.

We've all have had loved ones leave us far to early and although we miss and think of them daily, it's around this time of year, Christmas, that we sometimes feel that loss just a little harder.

It brings me comfort knowing that one day, I will be together with those who have passed on and together we will continue the Christmas Caroling tradition, only we'll have the most glorious "front man" by our side.  Until then, sing loud and proud way up high, my family and friends!  That goes for all of us here too!!

Wordless, Wordful or Whatever Wednesday Link Up! What a difference a year makes...

Unless I sit down and start browsing through my many files of pictures, I forget how fast time passes and how quickly my babies are growing.

It's good reminder, especially around this time of year, to SLOW DOWN and live IN the moment and not try to re-live moments passed by...

Ave & Bryce (my mom) Christmas 2010

Ave & Bryce (my sister and niece) Christmas 2011

Ave & Bryce this Christmas...

Would Love to See Your Wednesday Post...Come Link Up!

Day 15-21 of Elf on the Shelf! This n' That AND a Sick Elf...

Here is what our tiny Elves have been up to this week...

DAY 15
Tangled & Guy decided they'd "Go Fishing" on Monday morning!  I am not sure what the kids enjoyed more, their new books or that they got to eat Goldfish out of the "pond" all day?!?!?!  Ave was quick to let me know when the "pond" was empty and needed "restocking"...LOL!

DAY 16
Guy & Tangled made a pit-stop in my hometown of Porcupine, ON on the way back from the North Pole on Tuesday.  They brought a special delivery for each of them from our besties.  It was like Christmas morning as they opened their surprises!!

Side Note:  I love being able to spread the gift-giving from friends over different days as I think the kids appreciate the gifts more and truly understand who they are from.

DAY 17
Ave & Bryce were delighted when they woke in the morning to find their Elf hanging on their bedroom door knobs with a special Christmas hanging decoration.  They did VERY WELL not touching Guy or Tangled but poor Bruce had to give himself many reminders... "Don't touch Guy. He will loose his magic Brycie!"  LMAO!

DAY 18
It would seem that our Elves have acquired some artistic skills in the last couple weeks...you should have heard Ave & Bryce when they saw their picture with graffiti art drawn all over it...sheer panic...it was hilarious!  I let them know that it would all come off the next day when Guy & Tangled flew back to the North Pole and when Ave asked "How?" I simply stated, "With Magic!"  Her eyes got as big as saucers and said, "Ohhhh right!  Tangled & Guy have magic powers!"  Precious.

DAY 19
Mommy the Elves were tired this morning so they decided to just hang out on the fishy-mobile BUT they did bring a pretty cool present...a growing Santa & Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.  Apparently, in 2-3 days they are gonna be HUGE!  We shall see.  (The kids will be super disappointed if they don't because I made such a BIG deal out of the gifts in lieu of the unexciting Elf-Adventure this morning...LMAO!)

DAY 20
Saturday afternoon was our annual Twins, Triplets & More Association Christmas Party so, Tangled & Guy decided to let Santa know what THEY wanted for Christmas and reminded them to get their "wish lists" in order.  They also gave the kids some "I love Santa" buttons to wear to the party!!

DAY 21
Splish...Splash...Tangled and Guy took a Marshmallow Bath!!!  They also borught the kids some Christmas facecloths for THEIR baths that afternoon...how thoughful!!

Check Out What Happens When An Elf is *GASP*
T-O-U-C-H-E-D!!  A Fellow Scout Elf's Traumatic Day This Past Week...
Ave & Bryce have been a good little boy & girl when it comes to not touching their Elf.  I think that they understand the whole "they will loose their Magic and get sick" because of how many times they have watched the Elf on the Shelf movie & how I go on and on and on and on about it...LOL!  My friend Lisa and I, who is also having some grand adventures with their Elf, came up with a contingency plan (before we even started "elfing") in the event one of our kids did the "unthinkable" (Dramatic?  Yes, I know.  LOL!)

This week, one of her kids touched their Elf, Nike, he didn't make an appearance the day after and when he did FINALLY return...we'll this picture says a thousand words and one of them is AWESOME!!

Nike the Elf recouping from the touch of a child...LMAO!!!!

Only ONE WEEK LEFT...where oh where has this month gone????  I'm the Elves are really sad their time is almost up...maybe I could arrange  they could come for visits from time to time throughout the year?!?!

See you next week!
